Emma Stone
Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was
born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone (nee
Yeager), the homemaker, and Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone, a
contracting company founder and CEO. She is of Swedish as well as British Isles
heritage. Stone began her stage career in the ages of a child, as a part of the
Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she made her stage debut in the
production of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". Through
her teens Stone was part of numerous productions until she took the decision to
pursue a career in acting. The official version of the story is that she
developed a PowerPoint presentation that was backed by Madonna's
"Hollywood" and itself entitled "Project Hollywood", in an
effort to convince her parents to allow her to quit school and relocate to Los
Angeles. After the presentation was accepted, the couple moved to LA. She
continued to study at home, while auditioning. Her TV breakthrough when she was
awarded the role of Laurie Partridge in the VH1 Reality/Talent show In Search
of the Partridge Family (2004) which led to a number of smaller TV roles over
the following years. After a string success, her role as Olive in Easy A (2010)
was her film debut. Attended Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona.
While she is a redhead, the hair color that is natural to her hair is blonde.
It was Judd Apatow who suggested she change her hair color in Superbad (2007)
and she loved it so much that she decided to keep the color. At age 15, she
persuaded her parents she could make the move to Hollywood. She did this by
creating an PowerPoint presentation titled Project Hollywood. Her first
experience in acting at the age of 11 age at the Valley Youth Theatre in
Phoenix, AZ, where she starred in over 16 stage productions as well as
performing the theatre's comedy improv troupe. Caylee Cowan was also an actor
at Valley Youth Theatre.
