Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born September 7,
1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a theatre
actor writer, director, actor) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother and
is an actress. Her brothers older than her are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira
David Wood IV who also have been actors. Evan and her brothers have frequently
appeared in the Theatre In The Park in Raleigh. Her father started it and is
the director of operations. After a long audition process, she was five years
old when she was able to screen-test with Kirsten Dunst. She moved to Los
Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 . She has seen success since she
has appeared in a variety of television series, TV films as well as feature
films. She has appeared in Practical Magic (1998) and starred in the comedic
S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter. She the film followed with Thirteen
(2003) which starred Holly Hunter. Her breakthrough role as Tracy in
"Thirteen" brought her a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance
by an actress in a Motion Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award
nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress Female in a Leading Role.
When she was nominated by SAG it was her youngest actor to be nominated in the
Leading Role category. The role she played as Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries
Mildred, Pierce (2011) earned her an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe award.
The actress also received acclaim for her impressive performance in the role of
Stephanie the estranged Mickey Rourke's daughter in Darren Aronofsky's The
Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III. Ira
David Wood III's younger sister. Dancer. She loves to dance or sing, play the
rollblade and even horseback ride. She holds an black belt in Tae do. She is in
contact with many of her Once and Again (1999 castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia
Whelan and Shane West.
